Day 1524

Despite the loss of my beloved Arkansas Razorbacks to The Ohio State Buckeyes, my quick vacation to New Orleans and the Sugar Bowl was an incredibly fun time. Great food, great drinks, great people...what more can you ask for?!?! It was really wonderful being able to play and catch up with some of my college girlfriends...since most don't live in Little Rock, I rarely get to see any of them during my trips home. Smash, I had an especially fun time spending the trip with you! Laissez Les Bon Temps Roulez!

Day 1518

Tomorrow morning, super early, I'm flying out to the Big Easy! New Orleans for 25 hours sure sounds good to me!

Sugar Bowl, here I come! Woo Pig Sooie!

Day 1497

Saturday night I had a small birthday-eve celebration with some of my favorite girls in DC (and a few of my favorite boys too). Thanks so much for the dinner and drinks everyone! Good thing I decided to celebrate a day early, because I have been sick as a dog since Sunday afternoon. Not fun, not one bit. My birthday morning started off great, but I quickly went downhill sometime after lunch and nap time. So I'm off to buy more saltines and chicken noodle soup, and praying that tomorrow will be a better day.

Day 1366

Off to Little Rock in the morning and I couldn't be more excited! Two great friends have honored me to be in their wedding this weekend, and then I get to stick around to play with my family and great friends. Going to be a fantastic week! Home Sweet Home!

Day 1337

Whew, my life has been a whirlwind these days. Work, work, work and play, play, play. Lots of birthdays, 4th of July, Supreme Court nominations, Senator Byrd's laying in repose, General Petraeus nomination...and that was all just this past week! Needless to say, the Senate is now in recess and I am taking a nice, long deserved break. I might even get to lay by the pool today. Anyway, here's a collection of the past few weeks...

Day 1314

Nice and relaxing weekend...Joyce took an early flight home, so I ended up not having the kids as long into the weekend as I had thought. I did get out late though to celebrate my friend Erin's birthday and watch the Razorback baseball game. Let's go Hogs! On to Omaha!

Day 1307

Last night was Taste of the South, and I must say, this year was once again a huge success! It was a lot of fun, and I am completely worn out, but all the hard work was worth it--we raised over $200,000 for our Southern charities this year! Thank you to everyone who turned out to support us, to my wonderful committee and volunteers for the event, and to our sponsors...without you our event would not even happen.

Day 1301

What a great Memorial Day weekend I had, and the highlight was a last minute private vineyard tour in Virginia Wine Country! We started out at 10 AM and visited two different wineries, and after each tasting sat for a few hours to eat and enjoy a bottle or so of our favorite tastings. By the end of the day, we were asked to leave because we were "disturbing the other customers". Ha! I guess 10 ladies can get a little loud after a full day of drinking wine.
